I love junk journaling. And I love the word of God. So why not combine the two?
My most recent junk journal collection is inspired by verses from the book of Psalms that showcase praise for our heavenly Father. Each page of the collection contains verses within the design.
To go along with these pretty printable papers, I’m creating this devotional series for reflection and connection.
Wait… worship benefits me??
To me it seems amazing to me that although our Father asks us to praise and worship Him, we are truly the ones who benefit. Worship opens up such a space for healing, connection and peace.
It’s as if He knows what’s best for us or something?!
Our Jesus is so loving, so kind and so thoughtful. His thoughts about us out number the grains of sand(Psalm 139:18). I can’t even truly fathom that. But try and just sit with that for a moment.
You are loved.
We are loved by our good, good, Father. When he asks something of us, like a sacrifice of praise, He is asking us to step into what is best for us - what will lead us into our own heart’s desire. He knows our hearts better than anyone, He formed them after all.
So we need to remember this when we are struggling, or wanting to go our own way.
WE CAN TRUST HIM.
So let’s offer up our praise today.
Here are the verses that we’ll be diving into in this series:
Psalm 8:1-9
Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth! You have set your glory in the heavens. 2 Through the praise of children and infants you have established a stronghold against your enemies, to silence the foe and the avenger. 3 When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, 4 what is mankind that you are mindful of them, human beings that you care for them? 5 You have made them a little lower than the angels and crowned them with glory and honor. 6 You made them rulers over the works of your hands; you put everything under their feet: 7 all flocks and herds, and the animals of the wild, 8 the birds in the sky, and the fish in the sea, all that swim the paths of the seas. 9 Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!
Psalm 9:7-12
Psalm 18:1-3
Psalm 30:1-12
Psalm 34:1-14
Psalm 40:1-10
Psalm 66:1-20
